New winter dining experience in Henley
We are thrilled to have added two ‘Igloos’ to our riverside deck so that diners can enjoy breakfast, lunch and evening drinks whatever the weather.
The heated igloos can seat up to 8 people each and diners will enjoy heating and lighting to ward off even the most bitter British winter weather.
Igloos are available to book for lunch reservations Wednesday through to Sunday, also to hire for drinks receptions in the evenings.

The igloos provide diners with an opportunity to enjoy a relaxing breakfast or lunch overlooking the river while sampling dishes from our 3 AA Rosette lunch and a la carte menu’s with our deck menu also available including a selection of small plates including Truffle ‘Mac and Cheese’, vegetable ‘Nachos’, charcuterie and a selection of British cheese.
New menu, new furniture and extended opening times for the deck!
We have relaunched our deck area with a new menu, new furniture and extended opening times so that guests can enjoy drinks until 9pm whether they are dining with us or not.
The relaunch sees the introduction of a new and expanded deck menu with a selection of small plates and jars including Truffle ‘Mac and Cheese’ and vegetable ‘Nachos’
Additionally, the deck has comfy new furniture and additional heating to make it even cosier for diners to relax and enjoy the view of the river and boats passing by.

The Boathouse celebrates 5th Birthday
Shaun Dickens at the Boathouse, Henley’s riverside restaurant serving modern British cuisine celebrated its 5th Birthday this week.
Over the past 5 years The Boathouse has won numerous awards and established an enviable reputation within Henley and the wider area and is currently listed as one of the Top 10 restaurants in Oxfordshire.

“The past 5 years seem to have absolutely flown by. Everyone knows that running a restaurant isn’t an easy life but it’s something that I and my wife Gemma feel passionate about and we’ve been so lucky to have a team that is as committed and passionate as we are.
I cannot thank our customers enough and especially those that dine with us on a regular basis. We’re constantly enhancing the menu and we hope that they continue to enjoy what we produce.

Hot cocktails launched as Winter treat at The Boathouse
The Boathouse awarded prestigious 3 Rosettes
Shaun Dickens at the Boathouse has been awarded the prestigious 3 Rosette award by the AA.
Only 10% of restaurants nationwide are of a standard that is worthy of one Rosette and above and of these only 10% have three rosettes and above.
The AA inspector said, “The Boathouse doesn't just overlook the river from its attractive decked patio, it makes the thoroughgoing most of the location with Thames buffet cruises too. If you're up for a weekend breakfast as well, there may be no reason to tear yourself away all day. The place is run with a light touch by experienced, friendly staff, and the kitchen deals in smartly engineered modern food that reinterprets the classics, as well as adding some new ideas of Mr Dickens' own and desserts are as ingenious as everything that precedes them.”
Henley restaurant appoints new manager
Shaun Dickens at the Boathouse has appointed Christie Hayes as their new restaurant manager taking over from Igor Minuzzo who led the restaurant team for the past 3 years.
Christie has worked alongside Igor for owners Shaun and Gemma providing a service to match the quality of the food.
Henley restaurant wins AA Notable Wine List award
Shaun Dickens at the Boathouse has won the AA’s 2017-18 Notable Wine List Award.
The wine list chosen by sommelier Chiara Sieni reached the final round of the AA wine award and was chosen from over 1,000 wine lists based on the overall quality of its wine selection and presentation.
